Within the policy and management cycles, management is charged with the task of ‘guiding’, ‘administering’, ‘accounting for’, and ‘supervising’ the business activities, with the needed openness, integrity, and the obligation to act responsibly.
Business continuity management is an important element of proper business operations. BCM forms a part of setting up a system of internal controls and lies embedded in the daily workings of an organization, just like the other elements of the internal control (audit) system.
On 6 May 2011, it was decided that business continuity planning within the Government of Flanders will be further developed.
